Leopard hit by speeding vehicle on NH 37 at Teok battling for life at CWRC Kaziranga

May 18 (NL Web Desk): A leopard hit by a speeding vehicle at Kaliapani near Teok on the national highway 37 on Wednesday night is battling for life at the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation at Panbari, Kaziranga.
Incidentally, forest officials came three hours after the incident and arrived with only a bamboo and a rope to catch hold of the injured leopard. Forest officials had a tough time in rescuing the injured leopard with such unscientific and age-old measures.
Meanwhile, vets at CWRC Kaziranga said the leopard is not stable and is battling for its life following multiple injuries on its head and legs besides other internal injuries.
On the other hand, a leopard was caged at Mariani by forest officials after the big cat injured a woman and devoured livestock of villagers.
