Wanted ULFA (I) rebel gunned down in Udalguri gun battle

May 20 (NL Web Desk): A wanted ULFA(I) militant leader was killed in an encounter with a joint team of the police and army at Nalkhamara Sonaripara village in Assam’s Udalguri district Friday night.
Satyajit Bora alias Ramesh Borah alias Ramesh Asom, who was actively involved in activities of the rebel group and was a wanted militant particularly in Udalguri and Darrang districts, was killed after he challenged a patrolling unit of security forces and reportedly threw a grenade at the men in olive.
The slain militant leader is said to have taken up arms training in Myanmar in 2006 and returned to Assam to carry out subversive activities, police sources said.
Arms and ammunition along with Rs 6 lakh cash was recovered from the possession of the slain militant leader.
