Results of HSLC/Assam High Madrassa exams 2017 declared, 47.94% clear HSLC, 52.17% pass AHM exam; no rank holders from Guwahati

May 31 (NL Web Desk): The Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) Wednesday declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/Assam High Madrassa examinations 2017. While the pass percentage in the HSLC examination was 47.94%, 52.17% of the total candidates cleared the Assam High Madrassa examination.
Boys outshone girls in both the HSLC and AHM examinations that has been a deviation from past years.
Parthapratim Bhuyan of Jatiya Vidyalaya, Tihu, topped the examination securing 589 marks (98.17%) while Tannayoee Hazarika of BVFCL Model High School, Namrup, Ranjana Kashyap Gogoi of Salt Brook School, Dibrugarh and Nurul Haque Ali of Raghunath Choudhury HS School, Mukalmua, jointly bagged the second rank securing 588 marks (98%) and Bhargobpratim Borah of Pichala National Academy, Jarabari in Lakhimpur district came third with 587 marks (97.83%). Twenty-nine students found a place among the first ten positions in the HSLC examinations.
Significantly, no students from schools located in Guwahati featured in the list of top-ten toppers. Private schools also excelled while the performance of government-run schools was below par.
On the other hand, Taibur Rahman Khan of Ambari Kartimari High Madrassa, Goalpara topped the High Madrassa examination securing 537 marks.
