Three-year-old daughter of Assam University professor abducted from Silchar; two suspects arrested; housemaid, the main accused, still on the run

June 6 (NL Web Desk): In another shocking incident, the three-year-old daughter of a faculty member of Assam University, Silchar, was abducted, allegedly by their housemaid, from their Silchar residence on Monday.
The three-year-old daughter of Subhodeep Choudhury was allegedly abducted by the maid taking advantage of the absence of the minor’s parents. While Subhodeep Choudhury was out of town to attend a seminar, his wife, a doctor by profession, returned home from her workplace to find her daughter and their domestic help — identified as Neha Bagti — missing.
Meanwhile, Silchar Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the abduction although the maid, the prime suspect, is still absconding along with the abducted three-year-old.
The arrested persons have been identified as Bijoy Bagti — arrested last night itself — and Kotu Roy who was arrested today on the basis of Bijoy’s confession.
Silchar Police say they are working on certain leads and are hopeful of arresting the other kidnappers and also rescue the abducted minor.
