Soon, a medical college at Karimganj, dental college at Silchar

GUWAHATI, Jan 10 (NL Web Desk): Assam Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Tuesday made a slew of announcements to further improve the healthcare infrastructure in Barak Valley and said that the government is seriously contemplating at constructing a medical college at Karimganj. 

The Assam Health minister also announced that a Dental College will be constructed in Silchar while announcing that the government has already released Rs 10 crore to Cachar Cancer Hospital.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcements after inaugurating the Mother and Child Health Hospital at Silchar Medical College on Tuesday morning. Assam PWD and Excise minister Parimal Suklabaidya and Silchar MLA and Assam Assembly deputy speaker Dilip Paul also attended the programme. 

Health Minister Sarma said the separate hospital will overcome constraints arising out of increased patients and will ensure the best possible treatment and health services for mother and children.
